How do they do it? Do they have a special time warp that they enter to freeze time while they do their work? Do they secretly hire others to do the work for them? If we all have the same 24 hours to every day, how is it that some people seem to get everything done with time to spare, while others scurry about trying unsuccessfully to finish their first task? Buying Disc Harrows – Useful Tips

Harrows are a type of agricultural machinery that has been used since the Middle Ages. Disc harrows are indispensable when it comes to cultivating the soil before crops are planted. The main advantage is that they can chop up soil that has been recently plowed and thus eliminate clumps or simply loosen the soil if it has been packed. In the past, they were horse-drawn, but today they are usually towed after the tractor. Apart from disc type, there are also tine, chain, and spike harrows. Disc harrows are designed to be used for heavy work. As the name suggests, they consist of many iron or steel discs attached to a frame. Usually they are arranged into two to four sections.

Sustainability Driving Innovation

Sustainability is a catalyst for innovation. Companies around the world are serving as functioning models of the evolving relationship between sustainability and innovation. Sustainable innovations are creating new business models, opening up new markets and providing competitive advantages. Sustainable innovation is also improving profitability.

Companies around the world are demonstrating how innovative sustainable practices are bettering their bottom line. Organisations that seek growth must focus on business operations, shareholders, society and the environment simultaneously. Concentrating on any one of these areas at the expense of the other two could undermine long-term success. A focus on sustainability provides the best means to implement this multi-pronged strategy simultaneously, enabling organisations to innovate, differentiate themselves and succeed. Although sustainable practices were once dismissed for being too costly, increasing numbers of companies are coming to the realization that sustainable innovations are a gateway to growth.

Sustainable innovation is also known as eco-innovation, this is a term used to describe products and processes that contribute to sustainable development. Eco-innovation is the commercial application of knowledge to elicit direct or indirect ecological improvements. It is often used to describe a range of related ideas, from environmentally friendly technological advances to socially-acceptable innovative paths towards sustainability.

Eco-innovation requires a workforce that can consider problems from multiple perspectives and that can effectively work in cross-functional teams. For example, experience in chemistry and physics is required to tackle things like photovoltaics, polymers and greener chemical production.

Sustainable innovation offers businesses an increasingly important competitive advantage and an integrative approach to innovation often yields the best results. For an integrative approach, research and development need to encompass the entire life cycle, and this information needs to be continuously shared among the various work groups. Green innovation is about maintaining a sustainable focus and this requires continuous project evaluation from idea to commercialization. It is important to ensure that each phase creates a feedback loop that continually informs decision-making.

Effective Leaders – 3 Powerful Ideas to Get Your Message Heard

An effective leader would claim respect from a majority of individuals in his organization due to many of his leadership skills and one such skill is his assertiveness. He will be successful having his ideas heard by the employees but validated and implemented too. He should make sure that he is heard and all his employees know what, how and when the tasks that are delegated to them are to be completed. He should have his employees come to him for assistance in problem solving.

The employees are accountable to the leader and should present him their progress in work. There are a few ways in which an inspiring leader will make him heard among his employees:

· Anticipate the timing: Timing is an important aspect in communication. A leader need not communicate with his employees at any given time on any matter of the organization. There are some exceptions though, like in times of impending dangers or in some kind of emergency, then the leader can communicate immediately. Otherwise, a leader should show restraint and communicate when the people are receptive and cool. This hold good especially at times when he has to share some controversial information.

· Consider the venue: The place of communication is very vital. An efficient leader will be aware that not all venues are suitable for him to be effectively heard amongst his employees. He will be aware of what to communicate when and where. In front of an audience he can share the elaborate details of a project, while in a memo he can be crisp and keep the information to a minimum.
